An attractive and finely engraved print from the First Edition Of the Fables De La Fontaine with illustrations by Jean-Baptiste Oudry(1686-1755) and engraved by C.N.Cochin(1715-1790).This is the most famous & valuable of all the editions of the Fables.Oudry made these drawings between 1729 & 1734 and are a "monument to the art of the illustrated book of the 18th century".Each plate has the accompanying fable unless stated.Good impression printed on quality paper with wide margins.Very good condition.
